We have completed the Fair-Play Review and all playoffs. Our list of winners is now complete!
Our next step is the preparation and final engraving of the plaques and medals, which we hope will be completed by March 15th, if not sooner..
We are requesting that those of you who could, please pick up your awards from us, either from Dan Rohde on East 14th Street in Manhattan, or directly from Crown Trophy Company at 3024 Avenue U in Brooklyn, NY 11229 (718-769-4112, ask for Larry Brown, beginning March 10th). The expense to ship all the awards (we have over 307 awards of various types) is significant, and we are most grateful for helping us with our efforts to keep the early entry fees lower this year. This is especially important for coaches of schools or groups who have won multiple individual and/or team awards!
If you are able to pick up your awards, please email us by March 10th at director@gnyscc.com with the subject line: "Please Hold My 2021 Greater NY Scholastics Award(s) For Pickup."
For those who prefer instead to receive their awards by UPS, a preliminary estimate is that they should be shipped out during the week of March 15th. (Recipients outside of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are responsible for the shipping costs). Players should then receive them within a week after they have been shipped. We use the same address you gave us when you registered online to ship your awards.
If you registered through your school or coach (or if you want to use a different address than the one you gave us), it is very important that you give us your mailing address, so we can send you award(s). Please email us with your mailing address by March 10th at director@gnyscc.com , with the subject line: "Shipping Address For 2021 Greater NY Scholastics Individual Awards."
If you are a coach who wishes to receive your school team and/or individual players' awards, please email us with your mailing address by March 10th at director@gnyscc.com , with the subject line: "Shipping Address For 2021 Greater NY Scholastics School Awards."
If you wish to receive a trophy instead of a plaque, you can contact Crown Trophy Company in Brooklyn before March 10th, at: 718-769-4112 and arrange with them to pay any additional cost of a trophy instead of the plaques which we advertised. Players who wish to receive a trophy instead of a plaque are also responsible for the shipping costs of the trophy.
If you are outside of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, please contact Crown Trophy Company at 718-769-4112 (ask for Larry Brown beginning March 10th) to arrange for shipping your awards.
If you wish to pay for expedited shipping of your award, you can also inquire about faster shipping options directly with Crown Trophy Company. Please wait until March 10th before contacting Crown Trophy Company for this.
We will be updating our website in the future with the individual players and school team members who have also won free/reduced entry fee prizes into specified non-scholastic Continental Chess tournaments (please note that the free/reduced entry fee prizes do not apply to the 2021 NY State Scholastic Championships). In the meantime, the details of these prizes can be found at the US Chess website
A couple of points about the free/reduced entry fee prizes. If a prize-winning school team has more than four players, only the four top-scoring players on that team qualify for the free/reduced entry fee prizes. Note that the order of players within a specific school is sometimes listed differently in the team standings display than the order of players which is listed in the individual standings display. The tiebreaks used in the individual standings will be used to determine which four players within the same school are the four top-scoring players from that school who qualify for the free/reduced entry prizes. There are no substitutions allowed.
To use your free/reduced entry fee prizes, if you qualify, please
