The Non-Championship sections are divided by rating and also by grade and date of birth, and are played on one day, either Saturday or Sunday.

We have 14 different sections spread over 5 different grade levels:
High School: 3 sections open for grade 12 and below. Must be born after February 5th, 1997.
Junior High: 2 sections open for grade 9 and below. Must be born after February 5th, 2001.
Elementary: 4 sections open for grade 6 and below. Must be born after February 5th, 2004.
Primary: 3 sections open for grade 3 and below. Must be born after February 5th, 2007.
K-1: 2 sections open for grade 1 and below. Must be born after February 5th, 2009.

February 2017 official ratings from www.uschess.org will be used.

Unofficial ratings are usually used for players who are otherwise unrated. The Tournament Director (TD) reserves the right to assign estimated ratings to players with non-USCF ratings. Players who are unrated on the February 2017 USCF Official Rating List, or any unofficial or assigned rating may enter any section for which they also qualify by grade and birthdate. You may choose any section below for which a player qualifies by date of birth, grade and rating.

Entry Fee: Entry fee each day is $30. For parents, alumni & those affiliated with the Greater NY Scholastics the fee is $20.

Schedule: 12 PM, 1:15 PM, 2:30, PM, 3:45 PM either day.

Register on-site only, until 20 min before first round.

Byes: The limit is 2 half-point byes. The deadline to request byes is by 1:30 PM.

Prizes: Trophies to the three players each day.
